Christian’s principle interest is in the full range of cases concerning family finance, he advises and acts in all areas of ancillary relief, including disputes over jurisdiction and cases involving pre and post nuptial agreements.
In claims brought under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989, the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996, including claims involving constructive trusts and proprietary estoppels and related enforcement proceedings
Christian regularly represents parties in proceedings involving the Child Support Agency, both in Tribunal proceedings and in enforcement proceedings in the Magistrates’ Courts, and charging order proceedings in the County Courts.
Property & Chancery
Christian acts for parties in both private and public sector housing disputes including anti-social behaviour orders and injunctions, unlawful eviction and harassment claims.
Christian acts in cases involving all aspects of real property including disputes as to the beneficial ownership of property and orders for sale. Christian has a particular interest in cases involving family homes and undue influence or misrepresentation.
Christian also advises clients in relation to contentious probate and the Inheritance Act and has conducted seminars on the issue of undue influence in probate.
Regulatory, Public & Administrative
Christian regularly advises on Judicial Review matters and claims under the Human Rights Act 1998, acting for both Claimants and Defendants.
His practice includes disputes over s20 accommodation under the Children Act 1989, duties owed to children in need, leaving care duties, disputes between authorities over duties owed to vulnerable young people and adults and eligibility criteria.
Christian regularly advises on prison-related judicial reviews including challenges to revocation of licenses and recalls to custody and challenges to the Secretary of State and Parole Board.
