Debbie is an experienced family practitioner. She began her career as a Solicitor acting as a senior Legal Advisor within the Magistrates Courts Service. She subsequently transferred to a firm of Solicitors in private practice working within the Serious Crime Department dealing with such matters as the Strangeways Prison Riots, Multi-million-pound Drug Trafficking Rings and Murders and Serious Sexual Offences.

Before Transferring to the Bar in 2004, she also had experience working within a Local Authority Legal Department as a Senior Solicitor dealing with Public Law Care proceedings as well as acting as Advisor to the Adoption Panel and advising on any PII applications for Disclosure of Documents.

After 20 years in Practice as a solicitor she transferred to the Bar to practice Exclusively in Family Law.

Debbie’s practice encompasses both Public and Private Law family proceedings and she appears regularly in the High Court and has appeared in the Court of Appeal on a number of Occasions.

Debbie represents Parents, Children and Guardians in Public Law Proceedings including cases involving Complex Medical Evidence, allegations of Sexual Abuse, non-accidental injuries and Fabricated or induced illness by carers. Her practice also includes representing Rule S16.4 Guardians.
