Lauren has a busy family law practice involving Private Law Children work, Financial Remedies, and applications under Part IV of the Family Law Act 1996.
Lauren accepts instructions at all stages of a case and also provides advice prior to the issuing of proceedings. Lauren has experience in appearing in the High Court, representing clients at both interim and contested hearings, and she has also been instructed as junior counsel to King’s Counsel.
Attention to detail, professionalism, and an aptitude for quickly grasping the issues in a case are skills Lauren prides herself on. She regularly receives positive feedback from both professional and lay clients, including about her ability to put clients at ease.
Prior to commencing practice, Lauren worked as a Family Paralegal, where she assisted in a range of matters including matrimonial finances and children law cases. She also previously worked as a Legal Helpline Advisor for a national law firm.
Expertise
Lauren represents parents, Special Guardians, and children through their 16.4 Children’s Guardians at all stages of proceedings.
Lauren has experience of working on cases involving allegations of domestic abuse and alienating behaviours, and is often instructed on multi-day trials, including Final Hearings and Fact-Finding Hearings.
She has been instructed to represent parties with differing positions and interests in matters such as discharging Special Guardianship Orders, vaccination, and relocation with a child.
Lauren represents all parties at every step of proceedings, including applications for interim orders, preliminary issue matters, enforcement, and at Final Hearings.
She has experience of cases involving intervenors and those with third-party interests, significant pension funds, as well as issues of the other party’s non-engagement with proceedings.
Lauren’s practice also encompasses cohabitee property claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA).
Lauren accepts instructions in proceedings for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the theatre, and getting into a good book. She also appreciates any opportunity to travel and try out new recipes.
