She joined chambers in February 2023 having enjoyed a varied practice at the independent Bar, across a number of different areas ranging from crime to human rights. The variety within Zara’s practice has ensured that she is an experienced advocate well versed within a number of different arenas.
Zara has been described as a very competent and tenacious advocate striving for the best possible outcome for her clients in all areas of her practice. Zara is able to accept instructions on a Direct Access basis, being able to guide and advise her direct access clients through the often emotionally difficult proceedings that they face.
Zara acts across all areas of family law including private law and divorce proceedings. In private law, Zara is regularly instructed to act in cases involving high conflict and parental alienation and has advised in a number of applications for internal and international relocation. Zara’s experience with jury trials within the Crown Court means that she is well equipped for dealing with complex fact finding hearings.
Zara completed her BPTC at the University of the West of England for which she received an Outstanding. Zara also obtained the highest mark across both the full-time and part time cohorts in a number of subjects. Zara is also a Lord Denning Scholar at Lincoln’s Inn. After completing her BPTC Zara was invited back as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West of England during which time she taught criminal litigation and criminal advocacy.
