We are ranked as one of the leading sets by the Legal 500

Southernhay Chambers and Rougemont Chambers, it has been ranked by the internationally respected Legal 500 2014 as one of the leading sets on the Western Circuit.

In addition to chambers’ overall ranking seven members of chambers, including both heads of chambers, have been ranked as leading juniors in their fields.

The editorial board referred to Michael Berkley as ‘praised for his experience in Chancery law and professional negligence’ and praised ‘his expertise in property disputes includes highways, trespass and flooding matters’ and described Christopher Naish as ‘knowledgeable in public law children and family finance cases, and family-related trusts of land matters’.

Amongst the other members of chambers 5 members have been singled out for praise as leading juniors in their fields;

Rupert Chapman, in the category of family and children law was described as ‘a strong all-rounder, experienced in representing parents in cases involving alleged domestic and sexual abuse’;

Gavin Collett was considered a leading light in the construction, planning and environment category, the editors commenting that ‘planning, highways and rights of way are an intrinsic part of his practice’;

William Hopkin was identified as a leader in the commercial banking and insolvency category with the comment that ‘his broad practice includes contractual matters, professional negligence, social enterprise and charities law’;

Charles Murray received positive reviews in the category of personal injury and clinical negligence for ‘his personal injury practice [which] includes road traffic accidents, employers’ liability and occupiers’ liability’ as did;

Jonathan O’Neil who was described as ‘experienced in personal injury, clinical negligence and associated credit hire litigation’.
