Rupert Chapman and Russell James appointed Joint Heads of Magdalen Chambers as Nigel Moore retires.

Magdalen Chambers is pleased to announce that Rupert Chapman and Russell James have been appointed as new Joint Heads of Chambers with effect from 1 June 2022. This follows the retirement of Nigel Moore who has been Joint Head of Chambers with Rupert Chapman since 1 June 2019. 

Magdalen Chambers is enormously grateful and wishes to pay tribute to Nigel who was not only an excellent Employment Law Barrister but an inspirational and great leader of chambers who together with Rupert successfully navigated chambers through the changes and challenges of the Covid pandemic, with chambers consolidating its position as a leading chambers in the South West. We wish Nigel the very best in his retirement and for a well deserved rest with his loved ones. 

Rupert, who practices in Financial Remedies and Family Law will continue in his role as Joint Head of Chambers and will be joined by Russell who practices predominantly in Housing and Property litigation and was formerly Head of Civil. The role of Head of Civil, we are delighted to announce, will now go to Natasha Bellinger.
